How do you get behind chain chomps gate on supper Mario 64 ds?

You go to the chomp of chains that bite you,Buttbust the stump as you can,But make sure the Chain Chomp does not eat you!!,And then the Chain Chomp moves,BAM!!,and goes off to somebody's house,then you get the star.
