Is the study of Jose Rizal significant this days?

Yes it is, because Jose Rizal is considered basically the "first Filipino". Jose Rizal, was a mestizo from the Philippines. He not only had mixed Filipino-Spanish bloodline, but also Japanese and Chinese bloodlines. Like Vladimir Lenin from Russia, he was Russian but he had Dutch, German and Jewish bloodlines.

Jose Rizal, is like the Filipino George Washington or Vladimir Lenin. He defied the Spanish rule, to the point where the Filipinos started a revolution against Spain. Although, unfortunately Jose Rizal was caught and executed by the Spanish. This makes him even more of a hero, because he died as a martyr into what freed the Philippines from Spain.

Is the study of our American Founding Fathers significant these days? Yes it is. Same concept with Jose Rizal.
