What are the different aspects of physical examination?

first is Inspection; this simply means careful observation by sight

second is Palpation; this means feeling of a particular part of the body with the hands

thirdly is percussion; this means feeling the sounds of the internal part of the body by tapping the back of the hand placed on the body part with the middle finger in order to detect abnormal sounds

lastly is auscultation; this involves the use of stethoscopes to listen to sounds which occur in different parts of the body.
