How do you change the gear oil on a 03 Yamaha banshee?

i have a 03 banshee and need to add gear oil.the level is very low.so should i drain and add my 80 wt,or is it o.k to just top off?not sure what brand or wt. is in the bike now.can you help?also how do i drain?
