Can you take 2 or 3 birth control pills after your period starts to stop it?

Only take 1 pill a day(not 2-3)and stop taking them when you want your period to return. Do not do this for long periods of time without consulting your Doctor. If you take pills monthly and do not give yourself a break during the 7 day placebo pills you will not have a period during those times. The max amount of time you should do this is 2-3 months. Then take a break and start again. This method is usually used for people with heavy periods or dysfunctional bleeding patterns.
