A Good question for Columbus Day! Catalina de Aragon was the daughter of Queen Isabella of Columbus fame. Catherine of Aragon was the first of Henry"s 6 wives. Hen ry raised a ruckus with the Ecclesiastical authorities demanding a divorce on the grounds she did not produce a male Heir. ( She did give birth to the future Queen Mary, nicknamed Bloody Mary. Look up the dates involved! Around l969-70 there was a sort of (accurate) Mini-series on the live and wives of the Tudor Monarch- and this was very well received on TV ( program was sponsored by Porsche-Audi-Volkswagen, then under one roof. For some odd reason Tudor England ( Henry VII -Elizabeth I) was a very popular slice of history in the late sixties and early seventies- some movies, the mini-series, and a full-blown article in the National Geographic on Elizabethan England, were, the err, Stock In Trade.
