Can a California Kawasaki Ninja fuel tank fit on a 48-state Kawasaki Ninja?

To the best of my knowledge there is absolutely no difference with the fuel tank itself, the main difference in CA bikes VS 48 states has to do with the computer/fuel injection map. There are also noise restrictions which may cause the exhaust/manifold system to be different.
