Emo:

Emocore, or simply emo music, has it's origins in the mid-'80s harcore punk movement. It is known for it's confessional/emotional lyrics, melodic musicianship and expressive vocals, often screaming or whispering. In around 2003 emo became a Word used by the record labels and music corporations to describe bands like Dashboard Confessional and My Chemical Romance, and emo became it's own subculture. Emo fashion is known for dark makeup, tight jeans, dark clothing and sometimes dyed hair (especially jet black).

Hipster:

There are two meanings of the Word hipster:

- The hipster subculture started in the '90s, and is associated with alternative or independent music, non-mainstream fashion and of course, the very characteristic hipster glasses, thick, black, horn-rimmed glasses. These glasses are common in emo fashion too.

- Hipsters is a kind of women's underwear. Sorry, I just had to add this.
