How old was Cortes when he first sailed to the new world?

Hernán Cortés was born in 1485 and first sailed to the New World in 1504. This means he was around 19 years old at the time of his initial voyage. Cortés later became famous for his expedition that led to the fall of the Aztec Empire in 1519.
