It depends what you mean by touching. Patting him on the back for doing well, putting your arm round a friend's shoulder would be considered normal in some countries. In some countries it is quite normal for male friends to hold hands walking down the street. This would cause surprise in other countries.

It is not gay to touch a man. It is gay if a man only has sex with a man but not a woman.
