How do you charge for courier services?

Most deliveries are charged by the hour. Traffic is unpredictable and the hourly method usually works out best. Time starts when the parcel is picked up for delivery and ends when the the courier returns for payment. This procedure can change from job to job. Sometimes there is no reason to return for payment.

In addition most couriers charge a service fee, this is usually around $10.00. Then add the hourly rate. Lets say you have a parcel that needs to be delivered about 1hour and fifteen minutes away. The Courier will charge the service fee ($10.00) plus 1.25 hrs at $20.00 per hour.

So ... $10.00 Service fee, +1.25 hrs @ 20.00 per hour is $25.00, the total due would be $35.00
