Is a regular teaspoon okay for medicine?

"Tsp" is the common abbreviation for teaspoon, which is equivalent to 5 ml liquid volume. A small kitchen silverware spoon is generally regarded to be 1 teaspoon, or 5 ml, and should be equivalent for measuring liquid medications.

Be careful not to confuse TEAspoon and TABLEspoon. Large kitchen silverware spoons are TABLEspoons, and are the equivalent of THREE teaspoons, or 15 ml, and could lead to significant overmedication if interchanged.
