Why does a child steal?

It depends on the age of the child, but the really young ones are just practicing survival techniques. They take what they want to satisfy immature urges, believing everything is theirs. Older children are just acting out to satisfy their urges. But, children follow their elders' examples; do you steal?

Sometimes they just want more attention.
