Yes, of course it does. Running is one of the best exercises that works almost all of the muscles in our body, in other Words, its a complete body workout. Plus, its a cardio workout that pumps your heart faster resulting in weight loss. I lost ALOT of weight by running. Of course, it takes time to build up that stamina you need for running long distances but trust me, its worth it. I had to be really patient because in initially, I couldn't even run for 2 minutes at a stretch. It took me about 8 months till I was able to run (at a slow pace) for about 15 to 20 minutes. You don't have to run for 60 minutes at a stretch to lose weight! You can always slow down and walk to restore your breath.
Personally, I think it is the most effective ways to lose weight followed with a healthy diet of course. I've been running for more than 2 years now and my body has taken a complete new shape and I'm loving it! My legs have toned up and look leaner, so have my calves. It helps me stay active through out the day and keeps your skin fresh! I'd say you give it a try, I'm sure you're going to find it useful!
