The spelling of the Pizza type is Margherita but variations including Margarita are used for the same type of pizza. One form is a light pizza with olive oil, garlic, basil, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
It was named in Naples in 1889 for Queen Margherita of Italy.
