Why was he named rin tin tin?

Rin Tin Tin was named by Hollywood dog trainer Lee Duncan, who found the German Shepherd puppy on a World War I battlefield in France. He named the dog after a popular French puppet character, "Rintintin," which he had seen during his service. Duncan recognized the dog's potential for film and later brought Rin Tin Tin to the United States, where he became a major star in silent films and early talkies.
