When did the Filipinos accept Christianity?

Filipinos began to accept Christianity in the 16th century, shortly after Spanish colonization began in 1565. The arrival of Spanish missionaries, particularly the Augustinians, Franciscans, Jesuits, and Dominicans, facilitated the spread of Catholicism throughout the archipelago.
