Fat contain 9 calorie per gram. Your body needs fat but you should limit the amount of saturated and transfats you eat. You should eat those "good fats" found in nuts, olive oil, fish etc.,

So with that being said, if you are eating approximately 2000 calories per you should limit your fat intake to approximately 20%. So only 200 calories should come from fat.
