How long do you let the water run when backwashing a DE filter system?

What you do is put it on backwash for 2minutes then rinse for 1 minute, then you take out the chlorinator if it has one and take a pen or stick(not metal) and clean out all the white stuff and then spray it with a hosepipe and put it back in place, hope i helped!
