Do you need to soak gunite in new pool construction?

The gunite cures with heat. You want it to cure slowly to avoid cracks like in a dry desert. You don't need to soak it, just wet down the sides for about ten minutes, as many times as you would like to during the first seven days if it rains, you get a break. After seven days the gunite is cured and any additional soaking is not beneficial.
