How do you remove spare on 2003 Xterra?

To remove the spare tire on a 2003 Nissan Xterra, first locate the spare tire winch access cover under the rear of the vehicle, near the hitch. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the cover off, then insert the tire tool (usually found in the vehicle's tool kit) into the winch mechanism. Turn the tool counterclockwise to lower the spare tire until it is fully released from the carrier. Once the tire is on the ground, you can detach it from the cable.
