For one to be a good welding inspector they must be hardworking, easy to deal with and pay attention to detail. While actual experience in the welding field is not always required, it is certainly helpful and some companies require it. For example, the company AWS requires those with at least a high school diploma and at least a year's worth of engineering coursework to have over 4 years of work experience.
