How might advances in technology affect the kinds of questions scientist ask about the world?

There are 2 types of scientific research - basic and applied.

Basic Research finds out things no one else has.

Applied Research fine tunes what is known so technology can be created from clearly defining what is known.

If science as a career and scientists who do the work can use existing technology to further science then science will stop.
