The story of the Edelweiss Pirates is fiction but based on the real lives of the Edelweiss Pirates. They were German teenagers living during WW2. They refused to join the Hitler Youth, they spent there time playing pranks on the Hitler Youth and Nazi's. They also helped some German Jewish families.
