Why was Hestia important?

She was the godess of the sacrificial flame and the state, both of which, in the eyes of anyone at any stage of the Ancient Greek social hierachy, were very important. She was also the protector of the home, family, cooking, warmth and the fireplace, so she was consided in many contrasting ways comparitive to the persons social upbringing or title.
