One species that has been declared extinct in the last ten years is the Splendid Poison Frog (Oophaga speciOSa), which was last observed in Costa Rica in 2016. Habitat loss and climate change contributed to its decline, leading to its extinction. Efforts to conserve amphibians are ongoing, but many species continue to face critical threats.
