Why do we celebrate the feast day of Saint Agnes?

We celebrate any feast day to honor particular saints for their great service to God and Christianity. When we honor the saints, we honor their Creator - God. Saint Agnes died as a martyr, prefering to die rather than give up her religion and chastity.
