Why should students follow dress codes?

because without a dress code people will wear whatever they want and that is not okay. some people would choose to wear gross, smelly, or innapropriate clothing to school. dress codes are very important. they say its to stop folks from discriminating based on socio-economic class but it doesnt work cause in the schools we still can tell who is less fortunate based on other factors. like the car they ride to school in or the clothing we see them wearing at after schoool events. i cant help but notice also that the level of violence in our schools has actually incresed since uniform policys were instituted. all these school masacres didnt really start till after the uniforms so at the very least it proves that the policy didnt achieve its stated goal and should be changed
