What are the superstitious belief about circumcise?

The main one is that god ordered a Jew to have it done. and they have been following his example ever since. The modern reasoning for circumcision as it was introduced into English speaking country's was that it would discourage young boys from masturbating which doctors at the time said was responsible for about 100 + diseases ranging from syphilis to insanity.
