What is the Christian ritual that symbolizes inclusion into the family of God?

As Christianity is quite diverse and there may be several answers, IMHO, then I would say what Peter said in Acts 2:38, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
