Sand the piece removing all the loose material and debris. Wipe with a damp cloth and apply a stain or sealer of your choice.

Use a wood cleaner from Home Depot and follow the instructions. After it is clean and dried. Then apply teak oil or linseed oil. Do not waste your time staining teak wood.
