It is not not uncommon for a CNO (Chief Nursing Office) to earn a base of $160,000 - $240,000. This is a BASE salary. It's customary that an added incentive percentage to be 20-40%+ of the base, like any executive role has. CNO's are responsible for hundreds and sometimes over a thousand employees (Licensed Practical Nurses/Vocational Nurses, Registered Nurses, Advanced Practice Nurses / Nurse Practitioners) in various departments of the hospital. This is an executive position that reports usually to the CEO or the COO of the Hospital or Hospital System. In the end, it's hard to say what a CNO makes. There are many factors including location, size of hospital, size of staff, salary, bonus %, etc. But they do well.
