In short you have to remove the timing belt and assorted other parts to replace the water pump. The water pump is behind the crankshaft pulley (towards the bottom and lower radiator hose area. This is a relatively easy job for a very mechanical person. If you have not done this type of work I suggest your local Mazda dealer or repitable shop to do this.I could write a short book on the how to do,too long and a manual from haynes or chiltons would be a good start.I suggest spend the small amount of money have a shop do it being you seem to be unfamilar with this your best route to take.
