How do you lose wait while taking the depo shot?

I was on Depo for 4 1/2 years, and had a very difficult time losing the pounds. I was successful by joing Weight Watchers, and lost 24 lbs. in about 3 months. But it was NOT easy. I spoke to many doctors (I work for 6 of them), and a majority claimed that Depo does not cause you to maintain lbs., but the others said that any extra hormones you add to your system will make it harder for you to lose them. Good luck! I have used Depo before and also put on 2kgs after the 1st shot. I read that it is actually a steroid contraceptive - so maybe you could research about steroids. Just to let you know that if/ when you come off Depo or choose another form of contraception you will lose weight. Hope this helps. Good luck on the weight loss journey!
