What things offends Chinese people?

Any criticism of China or Chinese people, correct or not, is offensive. While in the West, westerners often self-criticise their own countries and leaders, it is actually illegal and punishable by law if you criticise Chinese leaders or officials too much. Foreign journalists have been deported from writing negative stories about China. Foreign teachers have been kicked out of China for teaching anything contrary to the official government version.
