Start Call of Duty 4. Enter gameplay and press the Windows button to minimize cod4 and go to the desk top. Right click on the desk bar and click Windows task manager or whatever its called in english. Its the 3rd above properties.

Anyway, click the processes bar, look for the proces "iw3sp.exe" or "iw3mp.exe", depends if youre playing single player or multi player, and close that proces.

When you start cod4 next time, is should ask you about the safe mode.
