Why did Rizal leave the country for the second time and part from his friends?

Rizal left the Philippines for the second time due to the oppressive environment under the Spanish authorities. He parted from his friends to protect them from being implicated in his activities against the government, as he wanted to prevent any harm coming to them because of their association with him.
