What was King Solomon's relationship with God?

Not good at all. the people wanted a physical king they could see, so God allowed it. But Saul made many foolish mistakes as a King. He disobeyed God many times when given instructions on how to do something. Had dealings with unholy people. Altogether unrighteous. God had to remove him from being King. He was in no way fit to lead Gods people. God knew he would have to move him, but to show the people that truly he was the only king they needed if the would have just believed.
