Are tampons bad for a 13 year old?

i would say no because when you put your tampons in ,it really hurts.And also when you pull it out it hurts more.Iwould suggest pads there more safer when i wore a tampon i didn't no when to change it.I only wear tapons when i go swimming .But i cry when i take it out.
