What is p14k gold?

the PL probably means that it is gold plate as opposed to solid gold and the 14k is the quality of gold used (14k is not high quality). It's not worth as much as you thought.


Many people believe that P and PL on gold indicates that it is plate. The P and PL are older terminology that was used to indicate exact or plumb Karat. A ring that is 13.5K can be listed as 14K gold but a ring that is 14KPl is exactly 14K gold or 58.33% gold.
