Bill Gates' most recognized contribution to Society was his founding of Microsoft and creation of a user friendling GUI. Previously, computers required much more knowledge of programming to use, as they had only text. Gates introduced the system seen today with a user friendly screen; icons and programs were available in a way outside of the command prompt.
