Why do you investigate space?

People investigate everything. They do so because there may be something to gain by doing so, For example why should you want to find out what is just above the atmosphere of the earth, (where space starts for us humans). We wanted to know this so that we could put satellites out there that we now use in thousands of different ways From predicting the weather to finding our way to a new location to communications of all sorts. If you don't understand something someone else understanding it can put you at a distinct disadvantage. So for strategic reasons and because they like to do it. people feel forced to keep searching for more knowledge
