Jehovah's Witnesses as Christians, condemn FORCED conversion.
We look at history, and condemn the Inquisitions; and the Crusades. We also view 'infant baptism' as 'forced' conversion.
But The Bible does teach that Christians should be involved in helping others who do not know Jehovah God, his qualities, his purposes, and his requirements.
Jesus stated a clear mandate in Matthew 28:19, 20: "GO" "Make disciples" "Teach them" Teach them what? "To follow the commands Christ had given". Then he said to: "Baptize them."
Christ was obviously speaking about people who are old enough to be 'taught'; people who could 'understand' the things taught; people who would 'convert' to becoming 'disciples' of Christ.
Christ Jesus, the Son of God, gave MANY commands. People have a hard time to 'follow' them. Many don't even know his commands.
Those who would like to please Jehovah God and who would like to live by his righteous requirements are 'helped to convert' from their former way of life.
Other religions have different views about 'conversion'. Perhaps someone else can add their contribution.
