How do you drill a hole in a glass coke bottle?

You will need a diamond drill bit that is specially designed for glass. They are not terribly expensive. A 1/4 inch Hitachi bit is $14.99. There are much cheaper generic bits on Amazon. Use moderate pressure. A drill press is best. Use water for lubrication. Use moderate speeds. Raise the bit once or more per minute. Reduce pressure as the bit approaches drill-through.

Tempered glass is almost always going to break even with careful drilling.
