What are the types of well and how each works?

There are several types of wells, primarily classified into two categories: water wells and oil/gas wells.

1. Water Wells: These include drilled wells, created using a rotary drill to reach groundwater, and dug wells, which are excavated by hand or machine to access shallow aquifers.

2. Oil/Gas Wells: These are typically drilled using specialized rigs to reach hydrocarbon reservoirs. Once the well penetrates the reservoir, pressure can cause oil or gas to flow to the surface, or pumps may be used to extract these resources.
