Why hasn't a thorough investigation of the events of 911 been done?

Because the government wants to keep its power. Because the individuals that most likely commited the atrocities on 9/11 were still in power as of the date of this question. Hopefully, Obama will direct the proper individuals to investigate how much involvement Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz had with 9/11.
