How do you start a Christian home group ministry?

It is not a question of "starting". If God is calling you to have a bible study, then have one. Have a couple of friends come over to study a certain Bible passage and have a detailed discussion about it. Prayer before and after the discussion would open and close the session. If this is a valid ministry, then God will guide others to your home for this study. The Christian sect was started in just such a way; people coming together to study together. See the book of Acts, it is full of references to just people discussing the events and theology together in a home. Indeed, in Matthew 18:20, Jesus says that He will attend such meetings. You will be fed too in preparing for this study. But if it is God's will for this to be a ministry, then the people will find it.
