An old fashioned is a drink with sugar syrup, .25 oz. Angostora bitters, orange slice, maraschino cherry, and one ounce of whiskey, brandy, or Southern Comfort. Some use a sweet white soda, some use a seltzer, and some use water with sugar syrup as the base.
