Why do guys say they love you when they don't mean it?

Complicated.

1: some guys are selfish jerks who will say anything to get into your underwear. (This is the majority, really. They really just want a lot of sex all the time with a lot of different girls. Until they grow up, when they still want it but know that it gets them in trouble, like with diseases and psycho girls who want to teach them a lesson about being stupid.) Some guys are nice though, and will be faithful, but most girls are none too bright and only like the popular cute guys who will definitely cheat. Here's a hint: if you pick a guy because he's hot, don't be surprised when his personality sucks. (Guys do this all the time. It drives me crazy to hear a guy complain about that the girlfriend he picked because she wore a D cup and had a cute face doesn't have a personality he likes. It's lame.)

Try going out with a less attractive sort of skinny geeky guy, seriously. They end up earning more money, they learn to be cooler and they usually don't cheat. They are willing to do nice stuff with you, want to spend time, are generally good at listening and still really really want to get into your pants, which is flattering. Plus, when you get older and see how hot they grew up to be you'll be seriously delighted at your good taste. Spots go away, skinny turns into lean, and shy turns into thoughtful around age 21 to 27... it's really neat to watch. I seriously wish I'd had someone tell me this in high school...

Other reasons: (but if you believe these of your guy you'd better have a darn good reason, or you're just deluding yourself)

2: sometimes they do mean it at first but then their feelings change. 3: sometimes he means it a little, but not enough to be solid and stick around. 4: sometimes he really really means it but pushing the issue will push him away. 5: sometimes he really really loves you but something else is going on and he has to deal with that before he can cope with love. (This is so rare it's not funny, so it's not likely it's your case. Don't get your hopes up, ok?)
