What is the difference between the casework and surveillance styles of probation supervision?

A casework style of supervision helps the offender with problems, providing counseling, and ensuring that the offender completes supervision. On the other hand, A surveillance style of supervision is when the offender is being monitored and enforce the offender to comply with the rules and supervision. If they detect a violation then they will revoke there probation and put them back into custody.
